Questions & answers

Good to know before your connection.

The most common questions from homeowners and tenants – answered briefly.

What happens during a fibre house connection?

First we lay a duct from the street cabinet (NVt) into your house. Then we blow in the fibre and splice it in the OneBox. In a single-family house this is already the connection your router plugs into. In an apartment building a large OneBox sits in the basement; from there a cable runs through the stairwell to every flat, where the subscriber socket (TA) is installed at the entrance. Finally we measure and document the line.

How long does the appointment take?

Usually a few hours. The exact time depends on the building and cable routes. We will tell you what to expect when we arrange the appointment.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes – you or another authorised person. We need access to the basement or utility room and – in apartment buildings – to your flat, because the TA is installed at the flat entrance.

What should I prepare?

Please make sure there is free access to the outer wall, the utility room and the spot where the OneBox or TA should go. There should be a power socket nearby for the modem and router. If you rent, please inform your landlord or property management.

Will there be drilling or dirt?

Small holes are usually needed for the house entry and cable routes. We agree the route with you beforehand – and leave everything clean.

What does the connection cost me?

Costs depend on your contract with the network operator or internet provider. We carry out the work on their behalf. Your provider can answer questions on prices and contracts.

I am a tenant – what applies to me?

The connection usually requires the building owner's consent. Once that is settled, you book the appointment with us as usual.

When can I use fibre internet?

After installation and measurement we close the order in the system. Your provider activates the line and will inform you about the activation date.

Can I reschedule the appointment?

Yes. Please call or email us as early as possible – we will find a new date.
